Most HVAC systems are designed to cool around 75 degrees indoor when it is 95 degrees outdoor (ACCA Standards)
In our areas it is seldom we get past the design parameters but it does happen every few years… and we always get calls that a system won't cool down to 70 degrees...
Some tips to staying cool indoors during this heat.
Make sure you have had your AC regularly serviced making sure coils are clean and filters are replaced regular. Dirty systems run longer and inefficiently!
DO NOT set the thermostat up during the day to “conserve energy” it will make the system work twice as hard and long to bring down to your desired temperature when you get home. A programmable thermostat can help- bring on the AC at just the right time so it will be the temperature you want when you get home.

Close blinds and shades to your home- not letting the warmer air in. Let ceiling fans help circulate the air around your house
Avoid using the stove and dryers during the peak hours- use outdoor grill if possible
Make sure your house is sealed and any leaks from the outside are fixed. Letting in the outside air make the AC run hard.
Stay cool inside this summer, if you need us give us a call.

Be sure to watch Channel 4 tonight at 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm for Aaron Clarks' interview with Allison Powell on this Hot Weather!
